Bluff Plantation 2

The Bluff was originally owned by Nathaniel Heyward, brother of Thomas Heyward, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Nathaniel's house was burned in one of the wars but the two live oak avenues remain. We built this new house overlooking the river. It is based on the traditional "Beaufort T" house form.

Beautiful, beautiful place! Out of genealogical curiosity, is Nathaniel Heyward's grave still there? Thank you.
